My fiancee and I send each other way too many cat photos

Rather than texting, my fiancee and I mostly use Google Hangouts. Today she sent me this picture of two of our three cats, zonked out on the bed. I happened to open this picture on my computer, and when I closed it, I saw all of the pictures in our Hangout. They’re about 80% cats.

So, here’s a lot of random pictures of our cats, doing cute or silly things!

Bonus points: my mother-in-law’s cat!

I didn’t realize this was the new thing, but I also got my GF (now fiance) using it a little before we started dating. It’s so much better than texting and we can bounce between our phones and computers smoothly.

Most of our pictures are of the dog...

The thing is that both of us work desk jobs and always have, so we are in front of computers a lot more than our phones.

When we started dating I was on an old cell phone plan that didn’t have unlimited texting, and she still had a non-smartphone but with a qwerty keyboard, so she’d text me a lot and burn up all my texts on my plan.

First I got her to text my Google Voice number, then when she got a smartphone we moved to Facebook Messenger, but I hated that stupid BA- DING! notification sound it makes (yeah I know it can be changed) and found it just generally not the greatest, like it would drop notifications and whatnot, so switched from there to Hangouts.

Now that I think about it, I believe it was under a different name when we started using it, too... “Google Talk”? In any case, they have about the best IM setup I’ve experienced, since it has quality apps for every platform you could possibly use (iPhone, Android, Mac OS, Windows, Linux...) and does everything consistently well. You’d think this would be a fairly easy task...

Yeah, the FB messenger has become better, but it is still not my favorite. I use it with some other people in my life that aren’t hip enough to use GH.
